The Confirmation of God's Word with Power, Signs, and Miracles Across the Nations

664 words, about 3 min read

There is a truth that must be firmly established in the heart of every minister who is serious about Kingdom assignment: when God sends His Word, He sends His power with it. These two things are not separate. They are not sequential, first the Word, and then maybe the power later if conditions are right. They move together. They have always moved together. And they will continue to move together wherever God's servants are faithful to preach what He has given them.

Confirmation
The doctrine is proven true before witnesses

Hebrews 2:4 confirms this: "God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will." Notice the phrase "according to his own will." The signs and wonders are not produced by the minister's charisma or by the emotional temperature of the crowd. They come according to God's will, as He confirms the Word that is being preached. The minister's role is to be faithful. The confirming is God's responsibility.

Confirmation in New Territory

This is the exact principle that stands behind any true ministry expansion. When the Holy Spirit is leading a ministry into new territory, territory that is new to that ministry, signs and wonders serve as confirmation of the word being taught. The manifestation of the power of God is the convincing factor that compels witnesses to believe the doctrine. Philip worked many signs and wonders in Samaria, and the people gave heed to what he preached because they were hearing and seeing the miracles he did (Acts 8:5-7).

A crowd gathered around a man with his back turned, hands raised, on a dusty ancient street at dusk.

So if God is opening doors for His Word to go into different languages and different nations, we should expect Him to also demonstrate His power. The expectation of signs and miracles is not presumption, it is faith. It is alignment with the pattern God has established throughout Scripture. Mark 16:20 says the disciples "preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following." The Lord was working with them. That is the covenant relationship between the minister and the Master.

Now consider what this means practically. If the Word is going into nations where people have never heard the gospel in their own language, God's power will accompany that Word. If the Word is being translated and distributed through technology, God is not limited by the medium. 2 Timothy 2:9 declares, "the word of God is not bound." It is not bound by geography, by language, by political opposition, or by persecution. It will accomplish what God intends.

The Word Is Not Bound

Matthew 24:14 gives us the ultimate scope: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." This is not a distant prophetic possibility. This is an active, ongoing mandate that every minister of the gospel is participating in. Every faithful sermon preached, every study guide translated, every soul discipled is a contribution to the fulfillment of this Word.

The Father's intention for this latter-day revival is to put on display a demonstration of Christ in flesh. He is raising up a Body where every member is used by Him. That means the expectation of signs, wonders, and miracles is not reserved for a few high-profile ministries. It belongs to every member of the Body who is walking in their God-given measure, faithfully preaching the Word, and trusting God to confirm it.

Psalm 2:8 is a promise that every minister should carry: "Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession." The nations are available. The inheritance is real. But it requires asking, believing, and going. It requires ministers who understand their position and are willing to move in faith, expecting God to do what He promised.

The Word will not return void. The power will follow the Word. The signs will confirm the doctrine. This is the pattern. This is the promise. Walk in it without apology.
